Chelsea and Juventus reportedly met on Wednesday to discuss terms over the transfer of Daniele Rugani. There seems to be a belief that this deal will soon be completed.
Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea squad is stacked full of centre-backs, but it’s unclear whether many of them have the ability to play ‘Sarri-ball’.
Cesar Azpilicueta is a full-back by trade. Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma are not the best with the ball at their feet. David Luiz may also leave the club before the end of the summer.
He has the quantity, but not neccersarily the quality. It would come as no surprise if Sarri looked to bring in a new face this summer. It looks as though Rugani could be that man.
According to Goal, Chelsea held talks with Juventus on Wednesday throughout an intermediary. It’s claimed that the Serie A champions are demanding €50M.
Chelsea are not currently prepared to meet that hefty figure, but a compromise is thought to be likely to be found. This one should be completed before the end of the window.
