Chelsea have reportedly raised their offer for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker – but it still might not be enough.

Thibaut Courtois’ future as a Chelsea player is in doubt. The Belgian has just one-year remaining on his Chelsea contract. He is thought to be favouring a move to Real Madrid to reunite with his family after four-years of absence.

Courtois has been superb for Chelsea during two Premier League title-triumphs. His departure would leave a major void, which would need to be filled by a goalkeeper of similar quality.

Alisson Becker is one of few capable of replacing him, and Chelsea appear to be interested. According to Sky Italia, the Blues saw a €60M bid rejected for the Brazilian. We have since upped our offer to around €70M, per the report.

It’s claimed that AS Roma will demand a fee in the region of €80M for their prize asset, which seems steep. However, at 25-years-old, Alisson could play between the posts for us for a decade. It’d be a worthy investment.
