Chelsea leading race to sign £26m midfielder, deal could be agreed before January
Reports have claimed that Chelsea are now leading the race to sign midfielder Gabriel Moscardo from Corinthians.
According to the Evening Standard, a deal could be agreed before the January transfer window even opens, due to when the Brazilian season ends.
Moscardo has established himself as a really promising midfielder that a number of sides are looking to bring in soon.
The Blues tried hard to bring him in towards the end of the summer transfer window, that had already proven to be a busy one again under the likes of Todd Boehly.
Their bid late in the summer was eventually not accepted, and now they are facing bigger competition for his signature.
The Blues now face competition from both at home and abroad for his services. Barcelona are a side who are really keen on getting a deal done to fill the void left by Sergio Busquets.
Chelsea leading Moscardo race
It does now look as if the Blues are leading the race, with them reportedly preparing to rival Arsenal for a deal for the teenager.
Signing young players has been somewhat of a staple of Todd Boehly’s time at Stamford Bridge. He has brought in plenty of stars for tomorrow alongside signing players to make immediate impacts.
The likes of Andrey Santos and Deivid Washington have plenty of promise surrounding them when they get their regular opportunities in the first team at Stamford Bridge.
However, there is the most excitement surrounding Kendry Paez though, who is not able to join up with the side until 2025.
After becoming a regular for the senior Ecuador team at the age of just 16, he has been touted to have a potential on the scale of the likes of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.
