Chelsea have reportedly made an enquiry for Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
Kovacic’s time as a Real Madrid player has been a so-so experience. He’s been showered with silverware, but has not played a starring role in any of it.
Now 24-years-old, he needs to be playing regular football in order to develop into the player that he was once destined to become.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea could provide him with it. We’re thought to have made an enquiry about the possibility of signing him this summer.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is believed to be our number one target, but pulling off that deal may not be plausible.
Kovacic is an alternative, and a good one, too. If Maurizio Sarri really does want a new midfielder, he ought to look no further than the Croatian mastermind.
The Daily Mail believe that he’s ‘desperate’ to leave Real Madrid. Let’s give him what he wants!
