Chelsea & Manchester United could agree a deal with £45m star player
TalkSPORT has reported that Manchester United has been offered the chance to recruit Ben Chilwell of Chelsea.
The England international is apparently not in Italian boss Enzo Maresca’s future plans, as he has been shelved under the new Chelsea management.
In Chelsea’s Premier League debut against Manchester City, 27-year-old Chilwell was noticeably absent from the starting lineup; Marc Cucurella was picked to start at left back.
Chilwell may not agree with Maresca’s tactical philosophy, which has Chelsea thinking of transferring the defender.
The situation comes at a critical time for Manchester United, who are currently grappling with a left-back crisis. Both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are sidelined due to injury, forcing manager Erik ten Hag to field right-back Diogo Dalot out of position in their 1-0 victory over Fulham.
With the transfer window closing on August 30, Chilwell is weighing his options, and Chelsea are expected to entertain suitable offers for the left-back.
His omission from Chelsea’s squad for their Europa Conference League fixture against Servette this week has further fueled speculation of an imminent move.
