Chelsea set to sign inter millian star.
According to the reports, Chelsea target Mauro Icardi is reportedly still far apart from agreeing on a new contract deal with Inter Milan.
The agent and wife of the Argentine star, Wanda Nara has revealed that Icardi is not close on agreeing on a new deal with the Serie A giants, with his current deal set to run out in 2021.
During his interview with Tiki Taka, the player’s wife said: “We are very far, or rather, we are not as close.
“I have to sit down and talk and I have not done it yet, which has been written. It makes me laugh when I hear that Icardi has no market, I think Inter can pay for the renewal, the priority is to stay in the Nerazzurri, obviously.”
The 25-year-old Icardi had been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea looking to strengthen their attacking options.
With Alvaro Morata misfiring, and Olivier Giroud only really used from the bench, Maurizio Sarri is looking for a goal scorer, and Icardi would fit the bill.
However, with the player’s agent revealing his priority is to stay in Milan, Chelsea may have to look elsewhere to secure a new frontman.
