Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is reportedly on the verge of becoming a Chelsea player, just two days after he signed for AC Milan.
Football throws curveballs at us now and then. It’ll forever be the sport that makes literally zero sense – that’s how it retains our interest.
Reina is a Liverpool man. He made 394 appearances during his time at Anfield, winning a grand total of zero Premier League titles.
He’s seemingly unwilling to retire without one, so appears keen on joining a side capable of going all the way in the English top-flight.
According to The Sun, Reina is close to becoming a Chelsea player. The Spaniard only signed for AC Milan two days ago.
Milan didn’t pay a penny for him, but could be set to get £9M from the Blues. Reina worked under Maurizio Sarri during his time at Napoli.
He knows Sarri’s system better than most. This is a deal that, on paper, would make a lot of sense.
