Chelsea have reportedly made contact with German club Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey over a possible deal this month, the reports say.
According to the Mirror, Blues have spoken with Leon and are one of a number of sides interested in signing him in the next few weeks. Bailey’s entourage,
Craig Butler, is said to have confirmed the contact with Maurizio Sarri’s side.
The report states that Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United have also been previously connected with the winger, although it does not claim whether or not they remain keen.
Leon has only been able to start eight league matches for Bayer Leverkusen this season, leading to speculation that the star could move to the Premier League.
The Blues have already made one signing from the German top flight this campaign after they announced the arrival of Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic earlier this month – with the American star having been loaned back to die Borussen until the end of the season.
This season, in all competitions (Bundesliga, Europa League, DFB-Pokal), the Jamaican forward has made 23 appearances, netted one goal and provided 5 assists.
