Chelsea are reportedly preparing a huge offer for Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
We can already here the Matthew Harding Stand screaming “WHO?” in cohesion as Paqueta prepares to sub-on for his Chelsea debut.
We’ve done a bit of reading around Paqueta, because we’re not going to claim to be aficionados of Brazilian football.
Though just 20-years-old, there seems to be a belief that Paqueta could have an impact on the Chelsea first-team, rather than being immediately shipped out on-loan.
He was selected as a reserve to the 23 Brazilians who headed to the World Cup this summer. Paqueta was the youngest on the roster.
Chelsea appear to be fond of him, too. They’d have to be in order to be chucking this sort of money about to sign him.
According to Os Donos da Bola, a £40M bid is being prepared by Maurizio Sarri’s side for Paqueta. Surely that’ll be enough to convince Flamengo to sell?
