Chelsea have pushed forward the start of preseason following the delay in appointing Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea’s new boss.
Preseason training was expected to start on July 2 2018 but it has been reportedly pushed forward to July 9, with Sarri not expected to be appointed until July 3 at the earliest.
The 14 Chelsea players who are still involved in the World Cup or have been eliminated, would not report for the start of preseason training.
Antonio Conte has reportedly prepared a full (very hard) pre-season training programme in case he is still in charge but it is expected Sarri will replace him as Chelsea boss.
July 9 is exactly one month before the end of the transfer window and five weeks before the start of the new Premier League season.
