According to The Telegraph, Chelsea may risk Tammy Abraham to play through the pain against Leicester City on Saturday if they don’t sign a new striker by that time.
Abraham damaged his ankle at the very end of the game against Arsenal after sliding into an advertising hoarding.
The 22-year-old couldn’t walk properly until the final whistle, however, the Blues had no substitutions left to replace him.
After the game, Tammy needed to be carried down the tunnel, between the shoulders of two men. Although the Englishman avoided a serious injury, he had to miss the FA Cup win over Hull City.
Abraham has been huge in the very first season of his Stamford Bridge career. The 22-year-old has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far, scored 15 goals and provided 6 assists.
As neither Olivier Giroud nor Michy Batshuayi has convinced Frank Lampard so far, the Blues have been looking for a proper back-up for Tammy.
Chelsea have until this Friday’s deadline to add a player to the squad.
