Chelsea reportedly remain interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
Bailey is considered one of the hottest prospects in world football. In many ways, it’s a shame that he isn’t currently competing in the World Cup in Russia. There were claims that he could do perform a dramatic U-turn and represent England, but that seems implausible.
Chelsea are in dire need of a new winger. Irrespective of whether Eden Hazard joins Real Madrid, both Willian and Pedro’s best days will soon be behind them. The pair will be heading into their 30s come the end of 2018. They need to be adequately replaced.
Bailey, on paper, appears to be the ideal candidate. The London Evening Standard that he is on Chelsea’s list of potential summer transfer targets. Though Bayer Leverkusen would likely be unwilling to let him go on the cheap, few players in the world could better justify such a hefty investment.
