According to Spanish outlet El Desmarque, Real Madrid could offer Chelsea the chance to sign long-term target Isco, with N’Golo Kante moving the other way to the Bernabeu.
The Blues have been repeatedly linked with the 27-year-old creative star in recent transfer windows, with Zinedine Zidane willing to cash in on the out-of-favour Spaniard.
Isco has made only 19 appearances for the Los Blancos across all competitions this season so far, scoring only once and assisting none in the process. He didn’t have an overly productive campaign last time around either, scoring only 6 times in 37 outings.
Meanwhile, Kante has emerged as a top target for Zidane in the summer and Madrid president Florentino Perez is keen to use Chelsea’s interest in Isco to land the Frenchman.
Going by the report, the Los Blancos are hoping to reduce the Blues’ asking price for Kante, which will presumably be quite high, by using Isco as a makeweight.
The 28-year-old helped the Blues to a triumphant campaign in the Premier League following his move from Leicester City in 2016 but has somewhat struggled to produce his best over the past couple of campaigns. The World Cup winner has largely been forced to play on the right-hand side of Lampard’s midfield trio, out of his usual position as a shield for the rearguard.
Should the Blues agree to sell Kante in exchange for Isco?
