Juventus have reportedly rejected a bid from Chelsea for centre-back Daniele Rugani.
Perhaps this deal is not as close to completion as it was first thought. It had been claimed that a deal was agreed in principle between the two clubs for the transfer of Rugani’s services, but it appears as though that’s not the case.
Rugani worked alongside Chelsea target Maurizio Sarri during their time at Empoli, so it comes as no surprise that the Italian is thought to be keen on signing the defender this summer.
Sarri and co, though, will have to up their bid if they want to have any hope of prising Rugani away from Turin this summer. Look at us, speaking as though Sarri has already taken charge at the Bridge. Easy to forget Antonio Conte is still our manager…
Regardless, the Gazzetta report that Juventus have rejected a €30M proposal from Chelsea for Rugani. It is claimed, though, that we may be set to offer an improved offer of around €40M.
Hopefully that’ll be enough to get the deal done…
