Chelsea target break silence over summer move to the Premier League

According to a report via Goal, Phillipe Coutinho says he is not ready to return to the Premier League and insists he is happy at Barcelona.

The former Liverpool playmaker has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea after failing to nail down a starting role at Camp Nou.

Coutinho has already won a number of trophies at Barcelona but his individual performances have lacked consistency and reports suggested he was considering a return to England.

‘My head is exclusively in Barcelona. Returning to England now does not fit into my plans,’ he told the Sunday Mirror.

‘This is my second season here. I have won titles but I am always an ambitious and demanding player. So, I want more and more.

‘But I’m happy. I wanted to play in Spain and I’m at the best club in Spain.’

Coutinho will return to England on Wednesday evening as Barcelona travel to Old Trafford for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash against Manchester United.

And the former Liverpool man expects to be subjected to a hostile reception at the Theatre of Dreams.

‘If they boo myself and Luis Suarez then that’s normal at Old Trafford because of the team we used to play for. But it won’t make any difference to me,’ he said.

‘And, even more than that, it is an incentive to play better and to be even more focused.
