Chelsea to make £43.4m from Saudi Arabia if these two transfers happen in coming days

In the upcoming days, Chelsea’s summer transfer market may take on yet another intriguing turn.

Newcastle United, which is owned by PIF in Saudi Arabia, is apparently one of the teams keeping an eye on Conor Gallagher’s circumstances following his Tuesday return from Spain, where he was expected to finalize a long-term contract.

Eddie Howe’s team is keeping a careful eye on the midfielder’s circumstances as they attempt to outmaneuver Atletico Madrid, who finalized a £33 million agreement for Gallagher last week, according to the Spanish website Fichajes.net. Before the agreement fell through, Gallagher took a plane to Spain, where he finished his physical and was even seen viewing the stadium.

The BBC reported that Conor Gallagher’s £33 million move to Atlético Madrid was halted because Chelsea’s £34.5 million deal to sign striker Samu Omorodion collapsed over personal terms on Sunday.

The English midfielder has the security of having just a year left on his current deal, but Chelsea have set a £33million price tag on him as they look to cash in on one of their homegrown players.

Newcastle are also in discussions with Crystal Palace for defender Marc Guéhi. The former Chelsea defender joined the Eagles three seasons ago in a deal worth around £18million, but Chelsea cleverly inserted a 10% sell-on clause.

According to The Times, Crystal Palace is holding out for a fee of £70 million for their English defender. That would be a very nice £52 million profit, with 10% of that going to Chelsea—so £10.4 million for the two-time Champions League winners. Adding that to the Conor Gallagher fee, if the deal were to happen, would mean a staggering £43.4 million for Todd Boehly and Co.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is set to speak for the first time in London as Chelsea manager tomorrow afternoon ahead of their Premier League opening game against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Blues are hoping they can now turn all their star power into a working system that brings out the best in them after finishing sixth in the league last season.
