Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard keen on bringing the German to Stamford Bridge in January.
According to Daily Star, Chelsea’s pursuit of Timo Werner will have to be delayed after the forward decided he does not want to leave Red Bull Leipzig until after Euro 2020.
Werner reportedly wants to win the Bundesliga title with Leipzig, who are currently two points clear of Borussia Monchengladbach and four points clear of Bayern Munich.
The 23 year old is also hesitant about having to adapt to a new league and team midway through the season and does not want his form to tail off ahead of Germany’s Euro 2020 campaign.
Lampard is also interested in Moussa Dembele but Lyon are reluctant to sell the striker.
However, Lyon have issued an official statement insisting the player will not be sold, saying: “L’Olympique Lyonnais are aware of certain reports in the media which suggest that Moussa Dembele could be of interest to other clubs during this transfer period.
“L’OL would like to reaffirm their wish, just as in the 2019 summer window, to keep Moussa Dembele.
