Chelsea believe Maurizio Sarri’s start to life at Stamford Bridge will convince Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante to commit their futures to the club.
he Blues have won five of their first seven matches in the Premier League and the Chelsea squad are clearly enjoying playing under Sarri after Antonio Conte’s dismal final term in west London.
Hazard admitted this weekend that he wanted to quit Chelsea to join Real Madrid in the summer and the Belgian now has less than two years left on his existing deal.
Kante, too, considered leaving and his camp held initial talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a big money move.
‘There were some contacts [from PSG],’ Kante recently admitted.
Chelsea are desperate to keep the pair and are willing to make Hazard the highest earner in the club’s history on wages of around £300,000-a-week, according to Goal.
They also believe Kante’s performances are deserving of a significant pay rise and are confident that the happiness the Frenchman feels under Sarri will convince him to sign on.
Sarri has brought an attacking philosophy with him to the club and Hazard in particular is enjoying playing under the Italian.
But the squad as a whole are also benefiting from Sarri and the Italian’s decision to revoke some of the dietary restrictions that Conte introduced has proved very popular.
