Christopher Nkunku to make Chelsea debut as Chelsea board to make move to sign 15-goal Bundesliga machine
Chelsea playmaker Christopher Nkunku could make his club debut during Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman joined the Blues from Leipzig during the summer transfer window and he was lively during the start of pre-season before picking up a knee injury.
Nkunku was expected to return to the matchday squad against Brighton last weekend but he was not deemed fit enough. However, he is anticipated to face United.
He may not necessarily make the starting XI against the Red Devils, but could be involved after the hour mark off the bench if the Blues are trailing in the game.
Chelsea are currently 10th in the standings with 19 points, five adrift of United, who are placed seventh. Both clubs need a win to avoid losing further ground in the top four race.
The fixture has been tightly fought in recent times. United have won just one of the last six meetings. The other five results have ended up in draws.
Chelsea board to make move to sign 15-goal Bundesliga machine
CHELSEA could make a move for Stuttgart star Serhou Guirassy as an alternative for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen
Reports in the media that the club could try and make a move for Victor Osimhen in the January window, a man that they wanted to sign in the summer window and a striker that is easily regarded as one of the best in the game.
He has been in contract talks with Napoli for quite some time now, but has been unable to agree a new contract as the Italians are playing hard-ball and do not want to offer him the kind of deal that he feels he fully deserves.
However – it has been revealed in recent days that Osimhen is closing in on signing a new contract with Napoli – meaning that it will be very difficult for the likes of Chelsea to get a deal done for the man, and Guirassy is now reportedly on the list.
The 27-year-old has been one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga this season with 15 goals and is only behind Harry Kane in the scoring charts of the Bundesliga.
Couple that with his astonishingly low £15.1m release clause and it seems certain that offers from us will arrive in the January window and take him to that next level in the game.
However – the board will not have it all their own way as it has been claimed that Arsenal and Tottenham are also interested in a potential deal for the man.
Speaking last weekend, Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness did not rule out the prospect of losing Guirassy in the January window.
‘In football you can never exclude anything, so I won’t do that here either.
‘I think he feels really comfortable. Of course, I hope he stays with us for a long time, just has a good time with us. But with him and with the others, it is never possible to exclude things.’
