Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that the club have rejected a €100M bid for Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly.
Koulibaly has risen from a relatively unknown defender to one of the best of his kind on the planet during his time at the Stadio San Paolo.
He has the time he spent under Maurizio Sarri’s stewardship to thank for part of that. His classy distribution from the back makes him the ideal Sarri defender.
It’d come as no surprise if Sarri was keen on reuniting with the Senegalese this summer. He’d walk straight into our starting eleven.
It’d be incredibly difficult to convince De Laurentiis to sell, though. Not only have we already poached Jorginho, but it doesn’t look as though Napoli are prepared to part with Koulibaly at any price.
De Laurentiis has confirmed that Napoli rejected a €100M kid for Koulibaly from an unnamed Premier League side. Could it be Chelsea? Who knows…
He’s quoted by the Express saying:
“It’s true, we had a €100m bid from the Premier League for Koulibaly, but we’re not negotiating his sale.”
