Club scared Chelsea will hijack £80m player, his agent telling him to join Pochettino
Arsenal are now worried about losing out on Moises Caicedo to Chelsea as agents encourage the Brighton No.25 to join the Blues.
This is according to Football Transfers.
So, what is the latest with Moises Caicedo and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
Well – if this update is true – it will be music to the ears of Chelsea fans.
Football Transfers believe Arsenal were very confident about signing Caicedo after doing most of the groundwork with the Ecuador international in January.
The Gunners were expecting to simply resubmit their £80m bid this summer, with Brighton now willing to sell the South American having initially issued a hands-off warning in January.
Now – however – Arsenal are growing increasingly concerned about missing out on Caicedo to Chelsea.
Football Transfers state that the Blues are now pushing hard to sign the 21-year-old having adopted a bullish approach to the transfer, refusing to give up despite failing to qualify for European football.
Chelsea are said to be willing to give Caicedo more money, and are also more open to paying the increased agent fees which his representative is demanding.
As a result, the Ecuadorian’s agent wants him to join Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea over Arsenal.
Arsenal face another Mudryk situation with Chelsea in Caicedo pursuit
Football Transfers add that Arsenal are now genuinely fearful that Caicedo could turn into another Mykhailo Mudryk for them, having missed out on the Ukraine international in January after initially thinking a deal was done.
If that is the case, then it speaks volumes about Chelsea.
As aforesaid, the Blues have no European football to offer after finishing 12th in the Premier League, whereas Arsenal almost won the title and have qualified for the Champions League.
Therefore, if Chelsea still manage to persuade Caicedo to join over Arsenal, it would be a real statement signing.
