“Credits to him for helping Chelsea today” “Never look down on him” – Jordan Pickford hails Chelsea star after saving Chelsea in 1-0 win over Everton
A 27th minute strike from Nicolas Jackson was enough to seal all three points for Chelsea against Everton.
Chelsea controlled the game, but a lack of a second goal made sure for a nervy finish to the game.
The Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has praised the efforts of Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to inspire the Blues’ win.
He told TNT Sport: “The first half we weren’t good, it was a mistake from Beto for the goal.
“In second half we dominated as Chelsea sat in and took the 1-0. Robert Sanchez made a few good saves so credit to him. We just need to be better in the final third. We weren’t far off it but that’s the Premier League, you get punished.”
Sanchez made three important saves in the game and his handling of crosses was excellent, as he kept a well-deserved clean sheet.
Nevertheless, this is a game Chelsea should have won with ease.
