Deadline day- Tuchel makes final decision on Giroud’s future at Chelsea
Olivier Giroud started against Wolves in Thomas Tuchel’s first game but was an unused sub against Burnley.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel preferred Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner for the game against Burnley on Sunday.
According to The Sun, despite Tuchel replacing Lampard, Abraham and Werner are ahead of Giroud in pecking order at Chelsea and the France international is worried it could affect his chances of making France Euro 2021 squad.
Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, now at Inter Milan, remains interested in a move for Giroud but the report claims Tuchel is unlikely to let Giroud leave as he will be left threadbare in attack if the veteran leaves.
