Didier Drogba returns to Chelsea

DIDIER DROGBA has announced a sensational return to Chelsea… as club ambassador for sponsors Yokohama Tyres.

Blues legend Drogba remains firmly in the hearts of the Stamford Bridge faithful after a stellar career in West London.
Drogba joined Chelsea in 2004 from Marseille and went on to win four Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the 2012 Champions League during two spells in the capital.

But the Ivorian now has a new task at the club after confirming his position as ambassador for shirt sponsors Yokohama.

Drogba scored an incredible 164 goals in all competitions while wearing the famous blue shirt.

And despite being 40 years old, some Chelsea fans would probably jump at the chance to have him back in the starting XI following Alvaro Morata’s troubles in front of goal.

The Spaniard endured a miserable debut season in the Premier League and admits he considered quitting for a return to either La Liga or Serie A after missing out on his country’s World Cup squad.

Morata revealed: “[Missing the World Cup] was a difficult time for me, but it doesn’t help anyone to think about the past.

“I’m going to do all I can to go to the next one. It was a difficult moment because I thought I was going to go.

“Clearly I thought about going back to play in Spain or Italy. Missing out on the World Cup made me consider it. I went to Chelsea to get to the World Cup. The last year wasn’t a happy one, it was a total disaster. I didn’t even know where I was.”
