Didier Drogba sends clear message to Enzo Maresca after Club World Cup final win against PSG

Enzo Maresca’s brilliant first season at Chelsea got even better at the weekend when the Blues were crowned the greatest team on earth.

 

This came as a result of their dominant 3-0 win over Champions League holders PSG in the Club World Cup final, sending a message to the side who were seen as the best in Europe going into that game.

Maresca said he knew his side would win after just 10 minutes, and their dominant first half was a showcase of the talent of Cole Palmer. The Englishman scored twice and assisted a third as the Blues blew their opponents away.

Former Chelsea star Ramires Also shared his wild celebrations as they picked up the win, making it two trophies in the Italian’s first season in charge of the club.

Blues legend Didier Drogba was also quick to react to their triumph. He was certainly a player who knew how to win a trophy during his time in West London.

The former striker took to Instagram to praise Maresca and his players, saying they should be proud of their achievements.

He said: “A lot to be proud of Chelsea, World Club Champions, with style please!!!! Congratulations to the Boys, the Manager and Staff.”

Drogba was an advocate for the Club World Cup before the tournament even got underway, with very few looking to downplay their achievements over in the United States.
