Done! Club confirms striker will join Chelsea in days

The Chelsea fans are yet to see any incoming player despite the January window nearing its climax. One player expected to join the club is Belgium forward Michy Batshuayi whose loan stint at Valencia has been cut short.

Batshuayi has failed to impress at Valencia and has scored just twice in 23 matches for the Spanish outfit. The Spanish club have decided to cut his loan short after the club’s shock Copa del Rey defeat to Segunda outfit Sporting Gijon on Tuesday.

Bashuayi was replaced at halftime by coach Marcelino in what looks to be his last match for the Los Che. Valencia chief Mateu Alemany revealed this decision on Thursday in which he confirmed that the Belgium striker is expected to leave the club in a few hours.

“The player knows,” he said. “For the good of the player and the club, we are looking for a solution.

“We are expecting an exit in the few hours or days.”

Alemany comments have triggered different reports in England which claims that the player could be loaned to a Premier League club. West Ham and Crystal Palace are believed to be interested in signing the forward.

Chelsea have striking problems of their own but it is unlikely that Batshuayi would be given the opportunity to prove himself at the club. Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and AC Milan ace Gonzalo Higuain have been linked to Stamford Bridge in the past few weeks.

Batshuayi proved last season at Borussia Dortmund that he is capable of performing on a consistent level. The former Marseille forward bagged 7 goals in 10 appearances for the German side. It would be interesting to see which club lands the struggling forward.
