Chelsea have reportedly completed the signing of Daniele Rugani from Juventus.
Though we appear to be in no desperate need of a new centre-back when you look at the numbers we have at our disposal, it’s certainly an area which we could improve on ahead of next season.
Our defence capitulated time and time again last season under the pressure of the opposition. It’s also worth mentioning that there’s no guarantees Cesar Azpilicueta will be able to operate as an archetypal centre-back.
Chelsea appear to have identified the need for a new defender and made their move in the transfer market to get one recruited. That man appears to be Juve’s Daniele Rugani.
According to Sport Mediaset, it’s a done deal. Rugani has been sold to Chelsea in a deal worth €40M. Signing a player with his potential for that price, considering the inflated nature of the transfer market, looks to be good business.
