“Don’t be shocked” if Chelsea re-sign 21-goal striker to challenge Nicolas Jackson

Dean Jones believes there’s a chance Dominic Solanke can be signed by Chelsea again.
Dominic Solanke, a standout striker for Bournemouth, is still available for the Blues to target, as confirmed by Dean Jones’ recent remarks. Last season, the 26-year-old scored 19 goals in 38 Premier League outings, capping an impressive campaign.

Other teams have also expressed interest in Solanke, so it will be intriguing to watch where he ends up the following campaign—it might end up at Chelsea. The Blues have made acquiring a striker their top priority, and they hope to do it by acquiring a center-forward who is dependable, prolific, and has flawless finishing abilities.

Furthermore, Solanke offers that and has Premier League experience. He currently checks these boxes, so whatever problem the Blues may have had is minimized. However, there is still uncertainty as the Blues intend to investigate alternative options throughout the summer window.

Jones believes that Solanke, a former member of the Blues youth, might return to Chelsea. Jones discussed the forward position in a statement on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, saying:

“He’s been brilliant, and Bournemouth won’t want to lose him, but the player’s head would be turned if there was serious interest in him. It wouldn’t surprise me if Chelsea or Newcastle were to look in his direction.”

This season, Solanke came as a surprise, proving to be a top-tier player who can perform exceptionally well when given the opportunity. Having spent ten years with the club as a young player and having the opportunity to present the senior team, the 26-year-old is familiar with Blues culture, even though he was never given the possibility to play any games.

He might be the perfect addition for us because he has also shown his durability in the league. He will join a team that has a wealth of offensive talent, and the Blues may decide to make another run at him if they are unable to secure a top target.
