Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has been one of the most vocal and high-profile advocates of Victor Osimhen’s potential move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues decided not to go against their transfer strategy, signing younger forwards Joao Pedro and Liam Delap instead.
However, Mikel still believes the fellow Nigerian would be the best addition to Chelsea who would bring something different.
“Victor Osimhen. He can stretch the play, he can run behind, he can come short, he can score goals, he can do everything,” Mikel told Sky Sports.
“You need that experienced striker who’s been there, done it, knows how to win big games, knows how to score in big games, knows how to be in the right place at the right time.”
Osimhen is currently playing for Galatasaray, scoring 12 goals for the Turkish side, including six in the Champions League.
