Some Chelsea fans are against a potential summer move for Napoli’s Dries Mertens.
NO! NO! NO! He was a very good option for the January window in order to gain some consistency in the league to reach top 4 so we could attract the REAL big name players like Sancho etc. He’d just take up another big contract therefore limiting Chelsea into buying a proper target

The west London club were interested in signing Mertens last month and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Daily Mail), they could make another move for the 32-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer. Several supporters, however, are not keen.
Instead, they would like a more long-term option to be brought in, such as Moussa Dembele of Lyon (23) or RB Leipzig hitman Timo Werner (also 23).
Be it Mertens, Dembele or Werner, Chelsea definitely need to sign a new striker to take some of the pressure off Tammy Abraham.
With 13 goals in the Premier League this season, eight more than the next highest scorer in Chelsea’s squad, the England international has been carrying his side’s top-four hopes. Scoring 10 goals across Serie A and the Champions League in the current campaign, perhaps Mertens could be the man to do the above.
Averaging 2.8 shots per game, similar to Abraham’s average of three (via WhoScored), Mertens looks capable of coming in and providing another threat to goalkeepers for Frank Lampard’s side.
