“Don’t ruin your career like Jack Grealish” “You’re a great baller” – Michael Essien tells Chelsea star on ‘ONE’ thing to avoid not to ruin his career like Jack Grealish
Aside from a few good touches here and there, Cole Palmer had a quiet game against Manchester United. However, his season has been outstanding overall, and former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien took another opportunity on Monday to give the playmaker some praise.
“You simply need to tell people the truth. According to statements obtained exclusively by EPL Index, Michael Essien stated, “I don’t see many better than him in the world.”
“He sees things that other people do not. Few players possess the talents and vision that he does.
Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien also had a word of warning for the 22 year old, however:
“The world his oyster. If he can keep away from injury, keep that calm head on his shoulders and he must stay at a club where he is a core player. That can sometimes ruin a player, just look at Jack Grealish at Manchester City.”
Palmer is central to Chelsea’s plans, and we doubt he’s got any intentions of going anywhere soon. Grealish wanted to step up from Aston Villa, while Palmer is already at a team with Champions League winning aspirations.
Michael Essien claims Palmer hard done by Southgate and England
Michael Essien also had some interesting thoughts about Palmer’s summer, which saw him wait patiently for his chance with England at the Euros before working his way into the team and scoring in the final.
“I was thinking during the EURO’s, why are we playing Jude Bellingham ahead of Cole Palmer?”, Michael Essien quoted.
Well, we know why – because Jude Bellingham is the biggest star in the squad, and had just come off a Champions League winning debut season with Real Madrid. He might not have been the right choice to play for England in that position, but Gareth Southgate was hardly in a position to leave him out.
Anyway, who’s “we”? Aren’t you Scottish, Pat?
