“Double announcement soon” – Chelsea ‘all set’ to complete Maresca’s dream transfer – Romano confirms

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is “all set” to complete Samu Omorodion’s deal.

The Atletico Madrid wonderkid, who has never worn a La Liga suit, appears to be headed to Stamford Bridge. Omorodion signed last summer and made an impression while at Alaves on loan.

The 20-year-old’s Chelsea deal is almost complete. The agreement, according to Fabrizio Romano, is “all set.” The Blues will have to pay somewhat more than €40 million to sign the striker.

Omorodion will agree to a contract that will expire in 2031, upon his return after representing Spain in the Olympics. Chelsea and the striker they have been chasing all summer have come to a personal accord.

It was previously claimed that coach Enzo Maresca ‘absolutely loves’ Omorodion, though the youngster initially looked determined to remain in Madrid, with Atletico having shown no desire to sell. This all changed recently.

Alvarez and Gallagher unlock deal

Atletico Madrid’s successful pursuit of Julian Alvarez and positive talks over Conor Gallagher have unlocked the deal as far as Chelsea are concerned. Diego Simeone’s have struck an agreement with Man City to sign Alvarez in a deal potentially worth a whopping €95m.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Atleti have agreed on the transfer of Gallagher, who will swap London for Madrid for a fee in the same ballpark as Omorodion, so it is essentially a swap deal.

In the wee hours of Monday morning, the England midfielder gave the green light to the transfer shortly before the deadline Atleti had set for his decision passed.

The Omorodion deal will be finalised once Atletico have sorted out all the details for the signing of Alvarez, which now appears to merely be a matter of time. Gallagher, meanwhile, is expected to be in Madrid already today to complete his medical.
