€100 million Real Madrid star could join Chelsea as Brazilian confirms his dream is to play for Chelsea

Newly appointed Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants to bring Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde to Stamford Bridge. The Uruguayan midfielder is the latest addition to the Blues’ list of targets, as Pochettino wants to sign a box-to-box midfielder.

As per a report in SPORT, Pochettino is driving his new side to secure a move for Valverde this summer. The Blues are studying the possibility of signing the Uruguayan and are reportedly readying a €100 million bid to test Los Blancos’ resolve.

However, the report adds that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will reject any offer for Valverde. The midfielder is seen as a vital part of the club’s future and no bid will be enough for them to even consider a sale.

Chelsea’s only option would be to trigger Valverde’s release clause, but that is set at €1 billion – nearly five times the current world-record for a transfer: Neymar‘s €222 million move to PSG.

Oscar has said he would be open to a return to CHELSEA in the future.

The 31-year-old left the club at the end of 2016 after five years at the club, making the move to join Shanghai SIPG for a fee in the region of £60million and he is still playing for the Chinese club.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, Oscar won the Europa League in 2013 before lifting the Premier League trophy two years later under Jose Mourinho – but now he has suggested that he open to a move back to the club

“I am very happy here [in Shanghai]. It’s a pleasure to play for this team,” he says.

“They have given me a lot of things. They have helped not only me, but my family as well. They have given me a lot of support since I arrived here in 2017. I really enjoy playing here.

“I’m just focusing on playing more games because last year, I played just three or four games in the season because of COVID and the situation here and I stayed for some months in Brazil.

‘This is why there was a lot of talk about me going to Flamengo.

“Of course, it’s a dream to come back to Chelsea because everyone knows the passion that I have for this club. It’s the same passion I have for Shanghai. It’s the two clubs I have played at for a long period.

“I have a lot of good memories at CHELSEA and I also have a lot of good memories of Shanghai. But I’m still here and I still have dreams to play for this team.

“So, if there was something where I could come back to Europe or Chelsea, we would need to talk.

‘For now, I’m here and I’m trying to win the title here again.”
