Eden Hazard has revealed that Chelsea blocked any potential move in the summer but insists he has no regrets about staying on at Stamford Bridge.
The 27-year-old has long been linked with a switch to Real Madrid and has made no secret of his interest in joining the La Liga giants, fueling rumours of an imminent exit at Chelsea.
However, Hazard remained a Chelsea player as the summer transfer window closed and the Belgian has confirmed that he will not leave Maurizio Sarri’s side in the winter.
The forward left Lille on good terms back in 2012 and hopes for a similarly amicable move should he go on to join Madrid.
‘Chelsea were clear with me [in the summer]. I couldn’t leave the club,’ the Belgium international told Telefoot.
‘I accepted it. Anyway… leaving or staying, I was going to be happy. I do not regret this decision at all.
‘When decisions are made [that you may not like] you can sulk and often you get the last word. But I will never look to clash with the club.
‘Chelsea have given me a lot. I left Lille on good terms and I want to do the same thing here.
‘A transfer in January? It’s not possible.’
