Eden Hazard reveals what Chelsea should do with Pochettino after shock Everton defeat “Look at this Chelsea team”
Eden Hazard has urged Chelsea to stick with Mauricio Pochettino during this difficult period.
Chelsea have now lost seven of their 16 games in the Premier League so far this season, with a 2-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday the latest setback.
The Blues are down to 12th in the league table and struggling for any kind of consistency on the pitch.
We think everyone acknowledged in pre-season that new head coach Mauricio Pochettino was taking charge of a very young squad of players, but there’s no doubt the group are underachieving in the first half of the campaign.
EDEN HAZARD responded to Chelsea’s loss at Everton today by saying that the London club have embarked on a long project which needs time.
He’s said that he would like to see Pochettino get time to get things right.
Hazard told NBC Sports: “When you look at the Chelsea team they’ve got talented young players, but they haven’t got players that know how to win games of football in the Premier League yet… I think this is a long, long project. They’ve got to stick with these young players. They’ve got to stick with this manager.”
Chelsea should stick with Mauricio Pochettino
We’re not in the camp of wanting Chelsea to go through another managerial sacking, but you can understand why some areas of the fanbase are furious with results and performances right now.
Obviously, this young group needs time to mature, improve and gain more experience. Pochettino has a track record of developing youngsters so sticking with him makes sense.
However, the way in that Chelsea have been beaten in some games this season makes it difficult for some to buy into this long project.
Speaking via BBC’s Match of the Day this afternoon, Pochettino said he’s ready for the club to spend in January. It certainly seems to suggest that the Argentine boss isn’t totally happy with the current options at his disposal
