Chelsea are yet to make any signings so far this season, there have been a number of departures and a few are still expected to leave before the end of the transfer window.
One Chelsea player who could leave the club this January transfer window is Olivier Giroud. The France international has been linked with a move to Italian Serie A side Inter Milan, but no deal has been made yet, and Chelsea London rivals Tottenham are now keen to hijack the deal. Tottenham Hotspur need a new striker after Harry Kane suffered a long-term injury and it is believed Jose Mourinho is very much interested in the 33-year-old.
Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, has revealed that Tottenham are keen on signing the Chelsea striker who has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea this season and has made just seven appearances in all competitions.
“Breaking | Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Olivier Giroud & are offering him a 1.5 year contract – José Mourinho wants him now, according to @DiMarzio ,” tweeted Get French Football News.
Chelsea fans have reacted negatively to this news and wouldn’t want the striker to go to a rival club.
“Would be dumb of Chelsea to sell to Spurs, would be strengthening Spurs’ champions league push lol,” said a Blues supporter.
Chelsea fans were as well disappointed when David Luiz joined Arsenal during the summer, and the Brazilian was booed on his return to Stamford Bridge. Giroud could join William Gallas as a player who represented Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham during his time in the Premier League.
