Enzo Maresca approves 26-year-old ‘brilliant’ player signing

Mauricio Pochettino to Be Replaced as Chelsea Manager by Enzo Maresca

Mauricio Pochettino will hand the reins to Enzo Maresca as Chelsea’s manager. Last week’s reports verified that Maresca, taking over for Pochettino, has agreed to a five-year contract with Chelsea.

The Athletic claims that the team is about to make public Maresca’s departure from Leicester City.

Movement of Transfers In progress
It looks like Maresca has begun working on transfers already. According to reports, the 44-year-old has granted Chelsea the go-ahead to sign a new player this summer.

Maresca Approves New Signing
Next season, Chelsea will be without central defender Thiago Silva, who is set to join Fluminense. To fill the void, it looks like Chelsea will sign Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the deal is close.

CaughtOffside claims that Maresca has approved the signing of Adarabioyo, who will join Chelsea on a free transfer as his contract with Fulham expires this month. Adarabioyo made 25 appearances in all competitions for Fulham this season.

Why Maresca Approved Tosin Adarabioyo
With Silva’s departure, Maresca likely sees the need for another central defender. Additionally, there is speculation that Trevoh Chalobah might leave, with links to Manchester United.

Adarabioyo, described as a “fantastic” player by former teammate Darragh Lenihan, brings Premier League experience and aerial prowess. According to WhoScored, Adarabioyo averaged 2.9 aerial duels won per game this season, the highest in Fulham’s squad.

Given his availability on a free transfer, it’s clear why Maresca would endorse Adarabioyo’s addition to the team.

Defensive Squad Options
Adarabioyo will join a roster that includes Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Levi Colwill, and Wesley Fofana. With these options, it will be intriguing to see Maresca’s preferred lineup once everyone is fit.

Chelsea will need to bolster their defense significantly, as they conceded 63 goals in the Premier League last season.
