Enzo Maresca reveals who will be his regular starter between Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku
Given the excellent form of his two strikers, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, Enzo Maresca faces a difficult decision.
With four goals in the Premier League this season, Jackson has been Chelsea’s top scorer in the league; Nkunku has six goals overall.
Nkunku has scored twice in the Conference League, once in the League Cup against Barrow this week, and once in the league—the game-winning goal against Bournemouth.
However, Enzo Maresca has stated that since Jackson and Nkunku are both performing well, he will continue to alternate between them. Enzo Maresca also complimented his other successful players.
“It will be between one of Nico and Christo,” the Italian told a press conference. “They are both playing very well for us.
“But it is not just them, there are many players that did well [against Barrow] in the week.
“Pedro [Neto] did well the other day, Misha [Mudryk] did well. All of them, in fact. In defence, Benoit [Badiashile] did well, also Axel [Disasi] and Renato [Veiga] and also Cesare [Casadei] – I thought he did a fantastic game the other day.
“It’s important when there is a chance, be it five minutes, 10 minutes, half-an-hour or from the start, that the players give everything, so it’s important.”
