Enzo Maresca To Bring Back Theses Two Chelsea Stars Back To First Team
After failing to obtain a summer transfer away from the club, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca makes a crucial U-Turn by bringing two starlets back to first team training.
Many Chelsea players who weren’t part of Enzo Maresca’s strategy were sent into exile. Players who were instrumental in the team’s victory the previous season, including Petrovic Chukwuemeka, Casadei, Chilwell, and Sterling, were not allowed to train with the first team.
Additionally, before the deadline, players like Malang Sarr and Romelu Lukaku were able to clinch transfers out of the West London club.
Trevoh Chalobah and Raheem Sterling left for Arsenal and Crystal Palace, respectively, but many others were not as fortunate and will now have to wait until January.
As it stands Chelsea youngsters Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei will be part of the first-team squad.
Though a loan was considered for Chukwuemeka, so he could get the chance to play more than 30 matches this season, but nothing came out of all the interest.
Nevertheless, Casadei was back in the fold again after Lesley Ugochukwu was loaned to Southampton, after the Italian recovered from a minor injury sustained on the U.S. tour.
Meanwhile Ben Chilwell unsurprisingly remains out of the first team, there is genuine regret that nothing could be arranged for one of Chelsea’s highest-paid players, Ben Chilwell.
Chilwell’s role as an orthodox left-back/left wing-back just does not fit into Maresca’s system.
Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei, two Chelsea youth players, will currently be included in the first team.
Chukwuemeka’s loan request was taken into consideration in order to provide him the opportunity to participate in over 30 games this season, but nothing came of it all.
However, after Lesley Ugochukwu was loaned to Southampton and the Italian recovered from a slight injury he had incurred on the U.S. tour, Casadei was back in the mix.
Unsurprisingly, Ben Chilwell is still not in the starting lineup. It is truly regretted that Ben Chilwell, one of Chelsea’s highest-paid players, could not have anything organized for him.
Chilwell’s position in Maresca’s system as an orthodox left-back/left wing-back just does not work.
The 21-year-old Renato Veiga, who was acquired this summer from Basel of Switzerland, is ranked ahead of him and serves as Marc Cucurella’s primary backup.
