“Especially Chelsea” “They will suffer us” – Pep Guardiola reveals what will happen to Manchester city this season
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has stated that he anticipates hardships for his team early in their Premier League title defense.
Because so many of their first team players are out of the picture, Man City has yet to win a preseason game.
During their preseason trip in the United States, Pep Guardiola’s young team traveled with the majority of their senior players still on vacation.
Pep Guardiola has now blasted FIFA and UEFA organizers for packing too many games into players’ schedules in recent years.
He said: “We will arrive late but not [just] against Manchester United, against Chelsea and Ipswich too.
“We will be late. It’s about trying not to drop many points, try to compete well. We don’t have players because they have to rest.
“If the big bosses and all the institutions like FIFA, UEFA and the Premier League don’t think about the players then the managers have to think about them, otherwise they will die. It’s too much.
“That’s why three weeks or one month is necessary, but the competition is there and you have to adapt.”
