Everyone is talking about What Moises Caicedo did than any other player in Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Bournemouth

At the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 1-0 under the captaincy of Moises Caicedo.

And judging on his performance, Moises Caicedo did not disappoint his management in the slightest.

Naturally, Jadon Sancho, Robert Sanchez, and match winner Christopher Nkunku will be largely credited for the win.

Throughout the game, all three of them were able to leave their mark, with Sanchez turning in a particularly strong showing.

However, statistics following Chelsea’s victory on the south coast indicate that Caicedo also merits some recognition.

Moises Caicedo’s defensive stats against Bournemouth

Chelsea managed to shut out Bournemouth, largely because of Sanchez. The goalkeeper stopped Evanilson’s penalty from going in and made several other saves on the night.

However, Caicedo also did a lot of good defensive work, which contributed to Enzo Maresca‘s side winning all three points.

According to Squawka, the midfielder won possession (10) more times than any other player on the pitch.

He also made the most tackles (4) and interceptions (2), showing just how influential he was at the Vitality.

It was a big game for Caicedo, who had to help out new signing Renato Veiga in the middle of the park. Veiga had to come in after Enzo Fernandez was ruled out of the match.
Moises Caicedo and Renato Veiga midfield pairing has potential

Caicedo and Fernandez will be Chelsea’s regular midfield partnership this season. After all, the club spent over £100m on each player. They simply have to start.

However, Caicedo and Veiga, as a combo, could be something for Maresca to think about for certain games.

They looked like a real combative duo against Bournemouth, a couple of midfielders who cannot be brushed off the ball so easily and can win it back.

Caicedo is not afraid to speak his mind either it seems. Caicedo and Sanchez were seen arguing during the first half of Chelsea’s victory over Bournemouth.
