Everyone is talking about What Pedro Neto did after Noni Madueke refused to pass the ball to him in West Ham win
Pedro Neto was not quite pleased with Noni Madueke during Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over West Ham United on Saturday.
Chelsea, who jumped out to an early lead after Nicolas Jackson opened the score in the fourth minute, had a fantastic afternoon overall.
The decisions made by Noni Madueke during Chelsea’s victory over West Ham United have not pleased Pedro Neto.
For Chelsea’s trip to the London Stadium, Jadon Sancho was selected in place of Neto, the winger.
It was not a surprise after the impact Sancho made against Bournemouth last weekend, while Enzo Maresca has since confirmed that he sees Neto as a right winger.
However, Neto was brought on in the second half of Saturday’s game and took up the position on the left wing.
There was one moment, though, where Madueke found himself running down the left on the counter-attack before he fired a shot straight at Alphonse Areola.
Neto was actually open during that phase of play, free for the square, but Madueke went alone. It resulted in a frustrated Neto throwing his arms up in the air and questioning his teammate’s choice, according to football.london.
Last week, Madueke was raving about Neto, highlighting just how fast the 24-year-old is in transition.
Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke competing for the same spot
While Neto can play on the left wing, again, Maresca plans to use Neto on the right this season.
It will see him go up against Madueke, who scored a hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers last month.
It should see the two push each other and really shows the depth of Chelsea’s squad, with Maresca having two players for each attacking position. Really, then, the Italian should have more than enough to get Chelsea back into the Champions League.
