Fabrizio Romano confirms €65m Chelsea transfer all official as Chelsea announcement made after confirming Stopper deal is DONE
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea are ready to complete their first major transfer of the summer.
The Blues have already added Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo to their ranks for the 2024/25 campaign, but they have yet to spend any money on a player yet.
That is about to change, though, with Romano revealing that 17-year-old Willian Estevao could be just hours away from officially becoming a Chelsea player.
According to Romano, only the final details of the deal need to be done.
He reported on X: “Medical tests also completed for Willian Estevao as new Chelsea player in Brazil.”
The medical is typically the last stage before any deal is made official, with the transfer fee and contract terms all agreed.
Indeed, Chelsea are set to invest big in the young Palmeiras star, who is primarily a right winger.
Willian Estevao to Chelsea: Transfer details
It has previously been reported that the Blues will spend €40 million upfront to land the forward, with a potential €25m arriving in bonuses. This deal was only thrashed out after intense negotiations between the parties and could see Chelsea pay more than Willian Estevao’s release clause, which was set in the region of €55m.
The Blues have done this so they can structure payments in a more favourable way for themselves with regards to Financial Fair Play (FFP).
Chelsea fans will have to be patient before they can see Willian Estevao in their club’s colours on the field, though. He will not be able to be registered by the club until he is 18 years old. This means he is 12 months away from signing.
This will be the second such deal that the Stamford Bridge side have completed, having already secured the future of young Ecuador star Kendry Paez, who will also join the club in 2025.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe will spend the upcoming season on loan at Doncaster Rovers after Chelsea confirmed the summer move.
The young goalkeeper, who recently signed a new deal to extend his Chelsea stay, will team up with Grant McCann’s side as they look to push for promotion from League Two.
CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘Rovers finished fifth last season before ending their campaign with defeat to Crewe Alexandra in the League Two play-offs.
‘Sharman-Lowe spent time on loan with Bromley in the National League last season before returning to Chelsea in January.
Good luck in Yorkshire, Teddy!’
