FINAL STAGES: Chelsea closing on Midfielder deal in coming days
According to sources, Torino, an Italian team that has previously accepted the club, is aggressively negotiating with Cesare Casadei, a young Italian midfielder.
Cesare Casadei appears to be one of the players most likely to leave Chelsea this month out of the entire first team roster.
The likelihood that he will do so permanently and to Torino FC in Serie A is actually growing.
Casadei and Serie A team Torino have already reached a personal agreement, and new talks are planned before the final fee is finalized.
When purchased from Inter Milan, the 21-year-old cost about €15 million plus an additional €5 million in add-ons. But the terrible task of replacing Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and Romeo Lavia in Chelsea’s midfield falls to the Italy Under-21 player.
Furthermore, everyone is now watching to see if Torino and Chelsea can agree on a transfer fee. Torino’s initial bid of €12 million/£10 million was far less than Chelsea’s asking price of €20 million/£16.6 million.
Di Marzio asserted, however, that a new round of club-to-club negotiations has been scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Furthermore, the reporter made the strong argument that there is room for both teams to compromise and reach a “halfway” agreement about the fee.
