Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, currently on loan at Burnley, started his first Premier League game for Burnley against Manchester City on Tuesday night.
Drinkwater’s last Premier League start was 639 days ago away at Manchester City under Antonio Conte.
He left the King Power stadium in the summer of 2017 in a deal worth £35m, which now looks an absolute steal for the Foxes considering how disastrous his time at Stamford Bridge has been.
The 29 year-old was of course a popular figure at Leicester, joining the club back in 2012 and playing a crucial part in the Premier League winning season.
The midfielder failed to play a competitive game for Chelsea under former boss Maurizio Sarri, who believed Drinkwater wasn’t good enough to play in his system.
Drinkwater was withdrawn after 59 minutes against Manchester City.
Do you want him back at the bridge?
