FINALLY! Chelsea reach agreement for striker as Enzo Maresca reveals plans for £89m signing
Napoli is currently on the verge of acquiring Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea following a breakthrough in negotiations.
Lukaku will now sign a permanent contract with Napoli for an estimated £30 million, which includes a sell-on clause.
Romelu Lukaku is a player that Napoli boss Antonio Conte is particularly interested in signing. From 2019 to 2021, the Belgian had two very successful seasons with Inter Milan.
For £97.5 million, Lukaku inked a contract with Chelsea for a second tenure in 2021, but the Belgian’s experience there didn’t go as planned.
Lukaku has been on loan in Italy for the last two seasons, first with Roma and then with Inter.
It remains possible the transfer could lead to Victor Osimhen moving in the opposite direction, with Chelsea preferring an initial loan deal for the Nigeria forward.
Lukaku has not played for the Blues since May 2022.

Asked whether Mudryk needs to be more consistent to justify his huge price-tag and be a success at Chelsea, Enzo Maresca said: “I think this is Misha, this is Mudryk, in terms of not only tonight, but in terms of since he joined the club.
