Forget Osimhen as Chelsea in talks to sign £70 million striker in coming days
According to writer Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport, Chelsea and Atletico are still in talks regarding Samu Omorodion, a striker.
There is no denying that the Chelsea board is still in the running to sign the top prospects in the game and bring them to Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks. A number of celebrities have been connected to the club.
Omorodion, a 20-year-old Spain U21 international, has only played for Atletico Madrid since coming from Granada in 2023. His contract expires in June 2028. Omorodion spent the previous season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, where he made 35 appearances and scored nine goals with one assist.
The club have reportedly had a £34 million offer rejected this month, and Marca claims it would take another £46 million to do a deal with Atletico Madrid. It is acknowledged that the Spanish club spent £5 million on Omorodion less than 12 months ago
West Ham United are also credited with an interest, and like CHELSEA are said to have had an approach turned down during this transfer window, but it seems that the Blues have not given up their chase to try and sign the forward
GiveMeSport and journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Chelsea are still very much interested in signing the striker from Madrid and are still in talks about getting a deal done.
The player recently spoke out about all the speculation – He told Marca: “Other clubs want me? My focus is on Atlético.
“I noticed that the people of Atlético supported me a lot, I also received a lot of support from the club, they told me to stay calm, that they trusted me.
“That is very gratifying for a player.”
