Frank Lampard has been speaking to the media at his standard pre-match presser ahead of the early kick-off against Leicester tomorrow, and of course the first question was about transfers.
However, We have entered the final day of the January transfer window with the door slamming shut at 11pm this evening.
Frank Lampard said during his press-conference this afternoon:
He said that “the window is 95% shut” for Chelsea, and confirmed that Olivier Giroud won’t be leaving nor Dries Mertens coming in.
It’s hardly groundbreaking given this is what we suspected, but it’s a sad confirmation of the lack of activity this month.
That 5% chance will keep us interested until the end, but it’s still not much to go on. As it stands, it looks very much like we’re sticking with what we have.
Lampard must be very frustrated by the whole situation, given what we’ve heard from him over the last few weeks about a desire to strengthen.
