Chelsea players will be waking up this morning with incredible excitement and nerves as they prepare to take on one of the biggest teams in the world in the most prestigious domestic competition around.
The Blues welcome Bayern Munich to Stamford Bridge in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
The two sides will battle over two legs in the next two weeks for a place in the next round, and as always in this competition, there is never an easy game.
As reported by The Telegraph, Lampard has gone all Antonio Conte on us and insists his team might need to ‘suffer’ at times over these next two legs.
He said:
“A big part of my job is to explain to the players that, over two legs, we need to be at our maximum. So going into the game we must make sure every box is ticked in both games.
“Bayern Munich are an incredible side with the ball. They’ve got some really talented players who keep the ball and use the ball well. If we have to suffer, we have to suffer. That’s our job over the next two games.”
