Full details: How the transfer deadline day went for Chelsea

The January transfer deadline day has now been concluded, and many Chelsea fans aren’t happy with how the Blues did in the winter transfer market.

Firstly, there were no Chelsea deals for Dries Mertens and Edinson Cavani – the two strikers that the Blues were keen on.

Due to Chelsea’s inability to sign strikers, the Blues were forced to keep France international Olivier Giroud. Giroud will now leave at the end of the season for free.

Tariq Lamptey also stunned the Blues as he didn’t sign a new contract and then left the club for Brighton and Hove Albion.

Etham Ampadu was due to return to the squad from his loan spell with RB Leipzig, but he’d remain in Germany.
